IFC has created EDGE to align the interests of developers, financial institutions, governments, and homeowners with the ambition of mainstreaming green buildings in emerging markets. With the support of global and local certifiers, EDGE aims to penetrate 20 percent of new build in more than a dozen target markets within the next several years.
Supported by free software, EDGE demonstrates how buildings can be more profitable while easing their impact on the environment. To reach the EDGE standard and qualify for certification, a building must achieve a 20 percent reduction in energy, water and embodied energy in materials compared to a base case. The objective of the contract is to create video that influences others to adopt EDGE as part of their standard business practices, through the following means:
-Position early adopters (both banks and developers) as market leaders through the EDGE website, EDGE and IFC social media channels, and IFC’s intranet, using both paid and organic methods whenever possible.
-Disseminate through the marketing channels of participating banks and developers to reach their customers and clients.
-Share at global and local conferences and events, and at EDGE Experts Cafés and trainings.
-Deploy during pitches as a tactic to win potential clients, instilling a sense of peer-to-peer competition.
-Gain placement on media in conjunction with articles.
-Showcase through email campaigns.
